On September 29th, Market Street in San Francisco will once again be transformed into a parade route that is host to a parade and festival for people who champion dance music and it’s culture. With talent that will be marked as one of the best line-ups yet in the event’s history, there will be something for everyone, with all genres of electronic music properly represented by a world class sampling of participants from all over the globe.

2006 was a banner year for San Francisco’s LoveFest, as the board and its cast of volunteers were on their own from the year prior’s Love Parade nametag. Producing an event that was host to over 60,000 attendees was no easy task, but one that was nonetheless successful, and was conducted with support from the City of San Francisco. It is because of the Board’s due diligence and forward thinking, and the team of volunteer’s professional manner that 2006 was able to achieve such success. This year, the city is again behind this event 100%, understanding that the continuing success of the LoveFest event is a good mark for the city overall.

With 4 years under its proverbial belt as both the SF Love Parade and SF LoveFest, and with plenty of Love to provide to the electronic music community, the SF LoveFest board is ready to do it all over again.

SF LoveFest board President Joshua Smith stated, ‘This is our second year under the SF Lovefest banner, completely autonomous from Love Parade. The success of last year’s event and heightened excitement around this year’s event is a testament to the fundamental community desire to come together and break down barriers, in peace and love through dance music, no matter what the name!’

Many of last year’s acts were beyond thrilled with the production and the crowd’s enthusiasm. There is something to be said about an event that brings out the generations of dance music culture together involving them in an even field that is unparalleled in dance music today. This year’s LoveWeek welcomes Sasha, Ferry Corsten, DJ Dan, Gabriel & Dresden, Crystal Method, Lee Burridge, Ladytron, D:Fuse, Baby Anne, Meat Katie, Afrika Bambatta, Donald Glaude, John 00 Fleming, Eddie Halliwell, DJ Rap, 16 Bit Lolitas, Three, Richard Vission, Sandra Collins, Vello Virkhaus, DJ Icey, Lee Coombs, Chris Fortier, Rogue Element, and many more. With official events beginning on the Wednesday and continuing through Sunday, there is plenty to look forward to during LoveWeek. The Chemical Brothers will perform at the Official Pre-Event on Friday, the parade starts at noon on Saturday culminating at the Civic Center with the VIP and Press areas hosted inside SF’s beautiful City Hall. Once again Spundae & Skills will host the official after party on the festival door step at the Bill Graham Civic.
