nyremezcla.com – “With a sound that balances melody, a strong delivery and a stylish stage presence, New York-based Zigmat has developed a solid following and continues to spark interest way beyond the confines of the Lower East Side’s rock circuit.” – Oscar León Bernal Zigmat, Brooklyn’s one and only Latin-infused electro dance band, releases their first self-titled CD on the night of September 20th, as they take the stage at Luna Lounge. The buzz surrounding Zigmat began to grow last fall when they exploded onto the scene with a weekly residency at Piano’s in NYC. News of Zigmat’s infectious sound, crowd-pleasing performance, and the appeal of the irresistible lead singer quickly spread throughout the city. Monica Rodriguez fuses her Puerto Rican roots and bilingual lyrics with the electronic indie rock of her band mates to create a foot-stomping, rhythmic masterpiece. The Piano’s residency was then followed by multiple shows at Nublu, sold out shows at the Mercury Lounge and Nacotheque, the city’s premier Latin alternative dance party. After a recent weekly residency at Nublu and the debut of Zigmat’s music video for single, “So Sure,” fans have been feverishly asking, “Where’s the CD?” On September 20, they will have the answer.
