1)Who are the members of the band and what do they play?

It’s mostly been just me since the beginning, and I’ve been writing and recording the music alone. I personally play guitar, bass, and vocals, and am going to be learning drums in the very near future. For prior recordings, a portion of the music was sequenced on the computer and the guitar and vocals were recorded afterwards. If things work out, in the future all the music will be recorded live and the vocals will be recorded and mixed later. There has always been a mix of styles within the Moonlight Awakening releases (from keyboard-only material to heavy guitar-based music) and so I’ve recently decided to split my interests among two projects, the new one being Innersense. The upcoming Moonlight Awakening album will most likely be more guitar-driven, with lyrics written from more of an observational point of view. To contrast, Innersense will be all electronic / computer-generated and written at a more personal level. At the moment I’m working on getting a full line-up together for Moonlight Awakening. I plan to continue writing a lot of the music and will most likely do guitar and vocals live. You could say that Innersense is now my official solo project, but even if the band situation doesn’t work out I will still do Moonlight Awakening as well.
2) How old are each of you?
I’m 19, born November 8th.
3)When was the band formed?
We originally started as a group back in early ’97 but it didn’t work out as planned. Now things seem to be coming together.
4)In your opinions what genre of music are you?
I don’t know– I’ve always tried to avoid labels with the music. In fact, Moonlight Awakening has always been bound to the principle of writing whatever comes naturally, not worrying about what sort of genre it it and such. Even so, it’s been dubbed either gothic or ambient/atmoshperic metal.
5)In which city are you currently residing?
I’m currently living in Verona, NJ.
6)What label are you on currently, and which labels have you been on?
No label yet, have been waiting for the right moment to actually seek one out. I’m really pleased with how the new EP turned out and intend to start mailing out lots of copies.
7)Have any of you played in another band?
Not unless you count when I was eleven years old in a pretend- death metal band which was more humourous to listen to than we believed at the time. So I’d say no.
8)Are you all in the process of recording an album or touring?
Well, at the moment we’re in the process of getting our line-up together. We intend to do local shows and play material from the One More Day EP, Freezing, and the upcoming album, Deviation. A decent amount of music has been written for the album but nothing has been recorded yet.
9)What is your favorite touring experience?
The ones I make up in my head.
10)Which bands have you toured with?
See above 😉
11)What are each of your favourite bands?
My favourite bands are Paradise Lost, Lake of Tears, and The Cure.
12)What was the last album each of you bought?
Katatonia, “The Discouraged Ones”
13)What is the weirest sex dream have each of you had?
You don’t really want to know that.
14)Which independant label do you think helps the bands in their roster the most?
I don’t know, I have avoided independent labels as much as commercial labels. The ones I’ve dealt with don’t seem to care much about reaching out and expanding their distribution, nor do they seem to care about the artists.
15)Which zine is your favorite?
Honestly I don’t get a chance to read many zines.
16)Where can people contact the band at?
My current address is:
74 Gerdes Avenue
Verona, Nj 07044-1021
It may change in the near future, so the best way to contact me would be via e-mail: [email protected]

17)What places do each of you work in your spare time?
I don’t work, have been avoiding it like the plague.
18)For all of our readers, are any of you single?
I think I am single. It’s hard to say these days.
19)Are you sXe or normal people?
I’m not sXe or normal. I am just myself. If you meant, “do you do drugs and alcohol?”, the answer is that I’m not opposed to it– I actually see those sorts of things more on the premise of a vacation. An occasional deal, to get away, but in this case it’s your life you’re avoiding– so if it becomes habitual, it’s very sad.
20)In your concerts, which songs by which bands do you cover?
The only cover song we’ve done to date is “It’s On Me” by Pyogenesis; in the future we will probably be covering the song “Sweetness” by Paradise Lost.
21)In you had the chance, would you sign on to a major label,or stay independant?
It really depends– we would like to retain the copyright to our music, and most major labels do not offer that. I’m sure something could be worked out. The most important thing to me really is to get the albums in stores, not fame or fortune but accessibility.

22)Which Sesame Street Character is the best-looking?
I’m more of a Pokemon fan myself; Charmander’s my favourite.
23)Does the band have a webpage?
Yes, it’s currently a part of my home page at www.innerword.org– you can find sound clips, lyrics, images, and other such things there.
