Twenty-Eight Pages Lovingly Bound With Twine #12 / $2 / 28M / :30 / Christoph Meyer, Post Office Box 106, Danville, OH 43014

Christoph and I have known each other for a few years. I think we first met at the AMC, and traded quite a few issues. Both of us have taken long times to review the other’s zines, and I think I have taken the cake for “length between review and reception”. Regardless, I write on. TEPLBwT is a quick read and has a high amount of replay value in the sense that the pieces are well-written and there is an overarching them present in practically all of the issues of the magazine. This time, for example, Christoph has each of the non-title pages represent a specific letter. There is some form of writing about a topic related to each letter, typically broken up with some piece of art or method of printing (gocco, linoleum). There is a large “found” component to this issue, in that a few of the pages were made with items that Christoph found in eir travails (a note, an old sorority picture). The home-made component to this zine is furthered by the inclusion of the title thread, which links together all twenty-eight of these pages. A fun read, TEPLBwT is a zine that can sit in a high-traffic area of the house or apartment and read until the pages become dog-earned and worn. I do not know if Christoph is continuing with this zine, but I sincerely hope ey is. Give Christoph some cash and I’m sure ey will send zines over or the money back; TEPLBwT is one of the best longer-running zines out there.
