Defend Music recording artists Chris and Thomas will be hitting the road this fall in support of their critically acclaimed album Land of Sea opening for Teddy Geiger. The Los Angeles-based indie folk duo recall moments of great troubadour couplings such as Simon and Garfunkel yet they retain their own distinctive, cinematic sound which has earned them press accolades.

NPR’s Song of the Day calls the album track “Take These Thoughts” “a warm, harmony-drenched roots-pop gem that hits its mark with glorious efficiency…Chris and Thomas are nothing if not born to sing simultaneously.” Web authority the All Music Guide asserts that the album is “Filled with homespun lyrical wisdom and poetic touches revolving everyday concerns and matters of the heart, gorgeous music, and fabulous picking…A timeless set.” American Songwriter recently said the following of the duo “…the sound of two voices in the closest of harmony, like the spirit of shared soul…this is authentically heartfelt, resonant music.” MOJO Magazine in the UK said this of the album: “One’s from Memphis, one’s from Munich, but their voices fuse like twins on this excellent full-length debut, a very close runner up to album of the month. They can sounds like Joe Pernice channeling Simon & Garfunkel or young Crosby & Nash lost on a moonlit prairie. This is evocative and impressive stuff.”

NPR member station WXPN’s highly regarded World Café program will have Chris and Thomas in studio for an interview and performance on October 4 with the session to be aired at a later date.

Chris and ThomasÂ’s voices blend perfectly and the live atmosphere is a beautifully intimate experience, complete with humorous asides as in-between song banter. They are truly a duo who sounds phenomenal on recording but are equally powerful in the live setting.

Please donÂ’t miss your chance to catch these amazing musicians live or to let your readership know about them.
