Atlanta, GA doom metal trio ZOROASTER has unveiled another new song from its eagerly awaited full length debut, “Dog Magic”. The thundering track “Terminally Charged” can be heard online at this location. Set for a September 11 release date via Terminal Doom / Battle Kommand Records (by way of Southern Lord), ZOROASTER’s “Dog Magic” is being called “one of the year’s best metal records.” The album is a monstrous and foreboding foray into primal, ultra heavy sludge / doom with searing atmospheric and psychedelic edges. The addition of left-of-center instrumentation (including Moog synths, theremins, ominous vocal choirs and a brass section to boot) to the band’s sound allows “Dog Magic” to simultaneously crush, swing and spook, seducing primal urges while inducing dark dreams of a David Lynch-ian world.

“Terminally Charged” is one of the first songs we ever wrote,” explains ZOROASTER guitarist / vocalist Will Fiore. “Brent (ZOROASTER bassist / vocalist Brent Anderson) had written the lyrics a year prior upon waking up after a binge. The first day we got together as a band, he had the main riff. I threw a few things in and the song was complete. The song has stayed pretty much untouched as far as the arrangement goes, besides the last minute addition of the keys on the album version.”

Additionally, ZOROASTER has announced U.S. tour dates in support of “Dog Magic”. The band will remain on the road through the entire month of October with additional dates TBA. Featuring a live show that has been described as “an obliteration of the senses”, the three piece has earned the title of “Atlanta’s loudest band” while sharing the stage with a diverse array of artists including Big Business, Nachtmystium, High on Fire, Oxbow and Saviours.

In addition to Fiore and Anderson, ZOROASTER features drummer / percussionist Dan Scanlan.

“At their fastest, Zoroaster could pass for half-speed Motorhead. At their slowest, the seconds between notes inch into double-digits. titanic heaviness…in the right light, those wide-open riffs hide worlds inside.” – VILLAGE VOICE

“Have the members of Zoroaster entered the Forest of Equilibrium? Sat upon the Dopethrone? Worshipped in the Church of Misery? Can they list all the Saint Vitus albums in order? Does Tony Iommi probably deserve co-writing credit on a couple of songs? The answer to almost all of these questions, O Disciples of the Power Nod, is a glorious, resounding affirmative. And the time is nigh to get one’s doom on. And on. And on…” – DECIBEL

“Great doom…Atlanta’s Zoroaster have something very EyeHateGod about their Sleepy, southern-fried sustain.” – PITCHFORK

“Zoroaster, whom cull their moniker from the Iranian prophet of the same name, come forth bearing recognizable sludge and doom all given the same sort of treatment as comrades-in-arms Eyehategod, Sleep, or Bullhead era Melvins. Given longer, they’ll likely usurp their influences and give one something large enough to lie down in.” – STYLUS
