It was released in 1999 on Nettwerk records, and it had 13 songs. It cost me nothing. They are Canadian power-pop with a 70’s feel, like Sloan. They are a 4 piece band that have toured with such big bands like the Tragically Hip. BDR play excellent guitars with well written songs and catchy hooks. BDR strays away from the normal style of guitar playing, adding all sorts of effects to their guitar-heavy style. BDR also doesn’t conform to one pre-established style of music, from 70’s rock to indy rock to power pop. BDR doesn’t let BTM stale by playing the same style of music for all of the cd, but mix all sorts of odd mixtures to their alt-pop style. The only problem that BDR is going to have is to make it big in the US. With crossover bands such as the Barenaked Ladies and Prozzak hitting it big here, BDR definatly has a chance. BDR is reminiscent of bands such as Everclear, Guided By Voices, Cake, and Ween. This is only a smattering of the sound that BDR can put out.
