This is a 9 song album on Mayhem/Fierce Records ,and it was released in 1997. The 1st song, “humana” inspired to nightmare is instrumental. Cradle of Filth is a 6 piece band, and is black metal. Primeval screaming goes along well with very melodic guitars and a driving 300 mph drum beat. The guitarist can play some awesome solos. Cradle of Filth is so good that they can go from speed black metal to an extremely slow female interlude and finally into a slow male/female verse (Heaven torn Asunder) Cradle of Filth is very into mythology-throwing in classical references everywhere. From what I understand, Cradle of Filth is an English band. The amazing female vocals are done by two women named Sarah Jezebel Deva and Danielle Cneajna Cottington. They definitely draw influences from Iron Maiden and Venom. Cradle of Filth makes good epic songs, which sound great and tell a story. Cradle of Filth is a very capable band that can handle tempo changes at a turn on a dime, and not fuck up at all. There is no sloppiness to this album at all. Check out their other releases on Mayhem as well.
