Road to Recovery

“With hints of prog-rock and ’70s sci-fi themes, Dystopia’s soaring synth melodies, falsetto-laden choruses,
and unironic grandness are utterly infectious.” XLR8R

“Like The Rapture with John Carpenter on keys, their pummelling space-disco is the perfect bridge between Bloc Party’s indie elegies and a synapse-shredding Justice DJ set,” NME 2007

Into The Galaxy

Hailing all the way from down-under (Melbourne to be precise) and about to turn things on its head here in the USA. Midnight Juggernauts an electro-synthesized rock n’roll fantastical sci-fi force, combining the wonders and mystique of Eno/Bowie with the hardhitting distorto of Justice and other “new ravers”. Brought to you in the shape and form of a
powerful trio consisting of Andy +Streetcrimes+ (GUITAR/VOX), Vin +Vandetta+ (KEYS/VOX) and Daniel +strictmachine+
on drums (formerly in the band The Valentinos) and collectively on a magical voyage, shimmering sonic light upon you and darkness within. Justice have been banging on about them for a while now and have now given them the ultimate nod by inviting them on the road with them this fall.

“Feature Album. Dystopia is spectacularly realised with its artful sci-fi theme, allusions to space travel, gothic overtones and dramatic flourishes reminiscent of the New Romantics – or Bowie homself. In a word: Grand. 4.5 / 5″ – Herald Sun

Midnight Juggernauts are most certainly ones to get excited about as 2008 creeps up, something tells us that it will most certainly belong to them. Take note, indeed.

DYSTOPIA

Having already sent ripples across the world with airplay on BBC1 and MTV2 UK/Europe, and back home on Triple J radio. For its first non-French release, Institubes couldn’t have been prouder to introduce this band. Additionally the Juggernauts have been moving audiences with their slamming live shows: touring Europe in late 2006, hitting the festival circuit with Parklife, Homebake, Laneway and Future Music, touring alongside Scissor Sisters & MSTRKRFT. They’ve also remixed tracks for !!! (Chk Chk Chk), KIM, The Presets, Dragonette (to be released on “Kitsuné Maison 4”), Electric Six and Damn Arms, while Juggernauts’ tracks have been remixed by DIM, Cut Copy, Popular Computer and The Presets.

Midnight Juggernauts debut album DYSTOPIA released in Australia August 2007. Coming soon to the Rest of the World.

Lead single “Road To Recovery” is a dizzying array of stomping disco beats, spiralling synths and effervescent guitars, a sonic mission through laser-soaked corridors and rainbow-lit roller derbies. It’s the perfect intro to Midnight Juggernauts’ debut album, a trekking montage that occupies the dark spaces between M83, Moroder, Air, ELO and John Carpenter– shooting stars, black holes, thumping disco beats, glimpses of the edge of the universe.

On the flip, “Tombstone” is a surefire party starter, so full-on, so anthemic when the drums and guitars emerge from the vocoderized incantation, the kind of indie synthrock beast that electro kids can’t get enough of. Popular Computer, courtesy of Kitsuné and fresh out of a splendid New Young Pony Club remix, turns the synths way up and pours lush melancholy into the mix. Heart- breaking and hard-hitting.

“Destined to do for electronic music in Australia what Daft Punk’s Homework did in France a decade ago –
start a movement nationally and turn heads worldwide – the debut set from this Melbourne/Sydney trio is an elegantly storming set of lucious grooves topped off with sci-fi imagery and prog-rock echoes.” Sydney Morning Herald – 2007
