Radio Rebellion Tour Starts Up, Features JFAC and Behemoth

The 2007 “Radio Rebellion” tour, featuring co-headliners JOB FOR A COWBOY and BEHEMOTH launched this Thursday, October 18. Presented by Hurley and Converse, the massive, twenty eight city North American trek will showcase the cream of the crop of heavy music’s rising stars from points across the globe and is already being called “the most ambitious heavy music tour of 2007.” The highly-anticipated “Radio Rebellion” tour will grandstand two of underground metal’s most talked about rising artists in Poland’s BEHEMOTH and award-winning Glendale, AZ quintet JOB FOR A COWBOY. Support on the extreme expedition will be provided by highly regarded French band Gojira and Canadian technical death metal quartet Beneath the Massacre. The tour’s official admat can be viewed at this location.

In addition to spotlighting a number of underground heavy music’s most popular young bands, the “Radio Rebellion” tour will feature extended sets from co-headliners JOB FOR A COWBOY and BEHEMOTH as well as massive stage production for each act. Fans can expect to see unique visual effects and colossal stage sets accompany the bands’ critically-acclaimed live performances.

On the topic of the tour launch and its expanded stage accompaniments, JOB FOR A COWBOY vocalist Jonny Davy states, “Prepare for a Job For A Cowboy show the likes of which has never been experienced before! We’re stoked to be a part of this tour and are looking forward to putting on a live show that is going to destroy”.

When posed the same question, BEHEMOTH frontman / guitarist Adam “Nergal” Darski commented, “We couldn’t be more excited! This is the first time we have ever brought a full production show to North American shores. We’ve done about ten U.S. tours, but all of them were support slots and I think our fans and we are ready for something longer than a 30-45 minute set. This time we’ll be playing about 15-17 songs including a few tracks from the new album, as well as some really old stuff. We are warmed up and ready to take this continent over again! See you all on tour!”

JOB FOR A COWBOY, who has seen a meteoric ascent unparralled in recent metal history, will continue to tour in support of its debut full-length album “GENESIS”. Referred to as “the most anticipated debut release from a metal band in years”, JOB FOR A COWBOY’s “GENESIS” debuted at # 54 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart this past May, shifting nearly 13,000 units in its first week of release and joined the initial releases from Stone Sour and Damageplan (which featured members of Slipknot and Pantera respectively) amongst the highest charting metal debuts to crack Billboard’s Top 200 since Slipknot’s 1999 self-titled album. Additionally, JOB FOR A COWBOY has earned a landslide of 2007 accolades including being named “Best Underground Band” at the 2007 Metal Hammer “Golden Gods Awards”, one of Total Guitar’s “Hottest Guitar Bands of 2007”, one of Alternative Press’ 2007 “Bands You Need to Know” and one of Revolver’s “Breakthrough Bands that will be Kicking Your Ass this Year”.

After emerging as Ozzfest 2007’s most talked about act, Polish extreme metal titans BEHEMOTH make their triumphant return to North America as part of the “Radio Rebellion” tour, and promise to “strike fear into the hearts of the masses” and provide fans with “the definitive Behemoth experience”. This month-long trek will see the band perform an array of songs from their highly acclaimed new offering, “The Apostasy”, which debuted at #149 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. While most bands struggle to evolve and stay vital within the extreme music genre, BEHEMOTH has managed to do so effortlessly. “The Apostasy” is destined to continue their legacy.

As co-presenter of the tour, sponsor Hurley has launched a “Radio Rebellion” micro tour site at In addition to gaining information on the tour, fans who visit the site have the chance to win a tour prize pack featuring prizes from each of the sponsors involved and take part in the “Rockstar Games’ Manhunt 2 Contest” to win a 50″ plasma TV and Manhunt 2 branded Wii. In addition to Hurley and Converse, “Radio Rebellion” tour sponsors include Revolver Magazine, Smartpunk, Metal Blade Records, Ferret Music and Prosthetic Records. “Radio Rebellion” Co-Founder Stewart Teggart comments, “We are very excited to launch this year’s ‘Rebellion Tour’. It will be ‘Radio Rebellion’ in the truest sense as we’ve assembled four of the most extreme bands in heavy metal. Each band on the tour this year hails from a different country and all of them have their own unique way of delivering brutally heavy music. If you are a fan of Metal, this tour is not to be missed! Radio Rebellion will be the microphone for the youth by delivering what the fans want to see and hear which is why sponsors with a similar frame of mind have been chosen to help support the tour.”

“Their name is a lighthearted nod to the ranch-country surroundings of their home base outside of Phoenix, but there’s nothing funny about JOB FOR A COWBOY’s sound…possessed” – REVOLVER

“impressive…One of the bands you need to know in 2007” – ALTERNATIVE PRESS

“This relatively young band – none of the musicians is older than 20 – has put a youthful spin on some classic metal influences…These Billy The Kids of extreme metal have uncorked a promising debut that’s likely to make the metal community stand up and take notice.” – HARTFORD COURANT
