Heading into their eighth year of broadcasting cutting edge music, pioneering web radio/art collective DUBLAB is marking this November their “Infinity” Anniversary with the unveiling a freshly redesigned & greatly expanded website, the launch of their fundraiser campaign, and the announcement that they are going non-profit. Things kick off this week with the Proton Drive starting this Monday, the completion of the DUBLAB’s new site, and Wednesday’s Echo Expansion show in LA celebrating the milestone.
The decision to go non-profit extends out of their original mission and operational goals: to spread truly progressive music and art free-of-charge to open ears. Not concerned with inflating trends or serving as a marketing vehicle for corporations, DUBLAB’s non-profit structure will have creative longevity and inspire folks for an infinite amount of time to come.

Devoted to the growth of positive music and culture, DUBLAB has more than 300,000 international listeners connecting to their streams & podcasts monthly. With no shortage of respected talent involved, DUBLAB’s list of resident DJs, The Labrats, is impressive alone including Ale (Languis), Allen (Plug Research), Jay Babcock (Arthur Magazine), Daedelus, Carlos Nino (Build an Ark/Life Force Trio), Nobody, “Farmer” Dave Scher (Beachwood Sparks/Interpol), Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel/Postal Service), among many more.

Just in the last year they have had in-studio sessions from artists such as Matmos, Entrance, Bradford Cox (Deerhunter), Thomas Fehlmann, and their list of past guests is much to long too list entirely but
includes the likes of Animal Collective, Juan Atkins, Devendra Banhardt, Busdriver, Caribou, Cut Chemist, Matthew Dear, Dabrye, Maurice Fulton (MU), Mouse on Mars, Oval, Prince Paul, Keith Fullerton Whitman, and that does not even scratch the tip of the iceburg.

The “Future Roots to Infinity” Proton Drive fundraiser starts Monday, November 5th and will go through Monday, November 19th. The Labrats will be broadcasting live throughout the entire campaign with special surprise guests coming in to support. All contributions ensure DUBLAB’s creative existence and growth, and donors will receive exclusive download sessions, special one-of-a-kind mixes made just for the donors, and surprise treats from DUBLAB’s vault of CDs, DVDs, magazine, t-shirts and more. http://dublab.com/protondrive/

DUBLAB’s new website isn’t only more functional but it also showcases how the collective has extended their creative action to art exhibits, film projects, event production and record releases. In addition to
their archive of podcasts and livestreams, the website hosts a collection of DUBLAB art exhibitions including “Up Our Sleeve”, giving 500 international artists a blank, white 12″ cover as a canvas. As well as the “The Dream Scene: images from imaginary happenings”, a fantasy concert poster & paraphernalia project. DUBLAB’s film section hosts a preview for their new movie in production about an experiment in sound recycling, Secondhand Sureshots. On top of that, DUBLAB has been active curating their “in the loop” series (out on Plug Research) which has featured contributions from: Animal Collective, Devendra Banhart, Dirty Projectors, Lavender Diamond, the Long Lost, Feathers, Dntel vs. the Postal Service, Camping w/ Chessie, Caural, Nobody, Prefuse 73, SA-RA, Daedelus, Caribou, Dimlite, and Milosh.

With the DUBLAB DJs being featured at venues such as MOCA, LACMA, The Getty Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Natural Museum of History, DUBLAB continues to build relationships with major arts organizations and venues establishing themselves as a major force in experimental media and arts.

The Labrats recently completed a 10 city “Echo Expansion” European tour. The accompanying Echo Expansion 12”(out on AIM Records) features Daedelus, Gaslamp Killer, Flying Lotus, Dimlite, Dntel, Blank Blue (Nobody + Niki Randa + Andres Renteria), Adventure Time, and the Lifeforce Trio. In celebration of their Infinity Anniversary the Echo Expansion show comes to the Low End Theory night at the Airliner in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday, November 7th. Live performances by DNTEL, Blank Blue, and Gaslamp Killer with DJ sets from the DUBLAB
Soundsystem, live motion magic projections and more.
