November kicks off with Silversun Pickups ruling MTV and radio. The quartet has been named the “Artist of the Week” on the channel’s ongoing, year-long series. They’re in good company, alongside recently featured musicians Common, Tegan & Sara, Beastie Boys, and Rilo Kiley. In other MTV news, sister channel MTV2 has officially added the video for second single, “Well Thought Out Twinkles,” following nicely behind breakout track, “Lazy Eye,” from their debut album CARNAVAS (Dangerbird Records). The Los Angeles quartet has also snagged an “mtvU Woodie Award” nomination for the “The Breaking Woodie (Best Emerging Artist)” as part of the only awards show honoring artists voted best by college audiences on MTV’s 24-hour college network.

The explosive track, with pummeling drums and Brian Aubert’s unmistakable rasp, is still climbing the Alternative Radio charts, jumping to #13 this week, and has been officially added to KROQ Los Angeles. In addition, the NYC counterpart, 92.3 K-ROCK, is airing the song nightly during their “Fresh Meat” segment, beginning Monday, November 5 at 6pm EST.

Having recently sold-out their triumphant last two shows in the States, Silversun Pickups are currently back overseas touring with Kaiser Chiefs for the rest of the month.
