Beep Beep Beep. it’s time to wake up America! The UK’s hotly tipped The Rumble Strips are getting their first proper US release! And to prepare for their up coming US debut, The Rumble Strips are taking it to the UK streets of Sheffield & Stoke, showcasing their stripped down live versions of “Alarm Clock”. While on tour this Winter with the Cold War Kids, they could even give a show in your little corner of the world.

The Alarm Clock EP out November 27th (Kanine Records) showcases their love of 50’s rock’n’roll, Adam & The Ants, Queen and is self-described as, “Like playing Clash songs, but using brass instead.” Oh yes, tons of “parping” brass, saxophone by Tom Gorbutt & trumpet by Henry Clark to be exact. The official bio (pasted below) will fill you in on lead vocalist/guitar player Charlie Waller’s inspiration to be in a band, and how he joined up with drummer Matthew Wheeler and his two aforementioned mates – all from Tavistock (yeah the one near Exeter).

The bio will fill you in on how The Rumble Strips came to put out a handful of singles in the UK on Fallout Records (home of The Fratellis), which led to a deal with Universal-Island and recording their full-length album in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer.

So they’ve visited the US before, including one rowdy trip to SxSW (google it), and they excitedly return this November for a first tour (dates below).

This EP contains six tracks including a Thin Lizzy cover of “The Boys Are Back In Town” (a live favorite); the physical CD will contain the videos for “Alarm Clock” and “Oh Creole.”
