Scream Club
Tried and true favorites of the Olympia, WA scene, Scream Club found their way to me via my lovely ladies of Team Gina. Pioneers of what they term “Queer Electro Sex Hop Hip Pop Punk Rock Glam Rap,” Cindy Wonderful and Sarah Adorable spread their messages of heartbreak, frustration, love, politics, drunk dialing, girl gangs and international adventures globally. Tight lyrics, killer hooks, unstoppable beats, mhmm. www.myspace.com/screamclub

Kaylee Cole
After weeks of scouring the Spokane music scene for something of interest, I received an email from Kaylee Cole. In the last year Kaylee as 1) re-taught herself to play the piano (after playing in her youth), 2) become a songwriter (!!), and 3) started performing live. SheÂ’s the diamond in the rough that is her scene, and sheÂ’s on the rise. With plans to play Seattle (and beyond) in early 2008, IÂ’m looking forward to sharing Kaylee with the masses. www.myspace.com/kayleecolemusic

Her sophomore album, IÂ’m On My Cell Phone, out November 13 on Olympia, WAÂ’s Crunks Not Dead Records, is filled with original, catchy electro-pop songs that will stay in your head for days, while also telling the story of this unique artistÂ’s life and experience as a queer femme and feminist.

SHIM – Title TBA
On their follow-up to 2006’s In the Veins, SHIM brings the voracity of their live show to the forefront. Scorching longtime fan-favorites like “The Highway,” “Animal,” and “We Got Guns” find a home on this disc that effortlessly seams together the energy with which SHIM takes the stage, and the precision with which they hone their craft off the stage. www.myspace.com/shim
