Multi-platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley will release a fourth single “Trying To Stop Your Leaving” off his critically acclaimed album LONG TRIP ALONE on January 28, 2008. Written by Bentley, Jim Beavers and Brett Beavers, “Trying To Stop Your Leaving” showcases the consistent strength and continued growth of the country music star’s voice, along with his innate ability to deliver authentic emotion in every performance.

“There is a real sense of urgency and emotion in the story of this song,” explains Bentley. “I actually took some time off the road to make sure my voice was the strongest instrument in the room that day, and I’m really proud of this recording.”

Nominated for CMA’s coveted “Album of the Year” award, LONG TRIP ALONE debuted at No. one on the Billboard chart and has, so far, generated two No. one hit songs (“Every Mile A Memory,” “Free & Easy”), while the title cut also spent multiple weeks in the Top 10.

Bentley has a lot to be thankful for this year as he continues climbing the ladder to country music’s elite ranks. The last twelve months have produced steady chart success, industry award nominations (GRAMMY, CMA, CMT), and countless television appearances, highlighted by Austin City Limits, TODAY and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Bentley also released a live DVD this year titled “Live & Loud at The Fillmore” and kicked off his first Bud Light sponsored headlining tour in arenas across the country with stops at a few of the summer’s biggest music festivals that included Bonnaroo and the Big State Festival.

Bentley’s “Throttle Wide Open” tour will continue into 2008 with openers Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan joining the high-octane dates in February. More information on the spring leg of the tour is available on www.dierks.com.
