Hurley (www.Hurley.com), the leading global youth brand with strong roots in surf, skate, art and music, and Science Records, a new independent music company based in Orange County, California, today announced the launch of the Hurley Recommends” music program in all Active retailers and Hurley outlet stores across California. It also provides emerging artists with a new distribution outlet and enables Hurley to expand its reach to a more diverse audience. The “Hurley Recommends” program kicks off with four artists: Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes, Talib Kweli and Motion City Soundtrack, all of which will be prominently featured on custom CD racks in each of the retail locations.
“Music is such an important part of the Hurley brand and we are inspired by artists of all types,” said Paul Gomez, senior vice president of global marketing, Hurley. “It was a natural extension for us to offer our audience the music that is part of our culture and lifestyle. We’re excited to support the artists that have been with us for a long time, as well as those who are new to the scene, and it’s great to have a strong partner like Active to work with.”
