Among the most prolific and engaging artists of today’s folk and cabaret genres, singer/songwriter D.C. Anderson liberates a new collection of unique and compelling tales from his gray matter with the release of “Our Story,” online and in stores March 11, 2008 on the LML Music Label. This, his eighth album since his debut release in 1993, offers 15 new original songs that playfully and poignantly challenge traditional notions of love and romance. “Our Story,” much like his seven previous releases, delivers a musical hybrid unique to D.C. Anderson; he’s an entertainer with an affection for and skill with theater and cabaret music, and a master folk storyteller with a sometimes sweet, sometimes wisecracking coffee house singing style.

On “Our Story,” the title track sets him across the table from an ex-lover quietly hoping to detect whatever sparks may remain. Roy Zimmerman’s “You” casts him as a contrite, wise and ever-loving husband. He’s a smirking social critic in the hilarious “Nine Percent Disgusted: An Art Song” and the owner of a superior posterior who isn’t afraid to admit it in “My A** Looks Fanta**tic”! Known for his songwriting collaborations “Our Story” marks Anderson’s first crack at contributing music to his lyrics, displaying a newfound skill for composition on “This is My Love” and “I Have to Laugh.”

To celebrate the release of “Our Story,” Anderson will do a special pre-release performance and signing at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle Store in New York City on March 5, 2008. “Our Story” will receive international distribution through LML Music via the Allegro Corporation and can be purchased from Barnes & Noble, iTunes, http://www.lmlmusic.com/, and more.

Continuing the humanity and humorous jaunt of his previous seven releases, “Our Story” is the new and wonderful installment of D.C. Anderson’s greater story: a story with remarkable heart, off-kilter humor, and no end in sight.
