Vickie Winans and Marvin Winans, Jr. Lead Nationally Known Christian Lineup During Two-Day Event Expected to Draw 13,500

A new Christian Music Festival has been launched by veteran Oakland County attorney, C. Daniel Harry, with the aim of inspiring thousands of people to come together in peace and worship to enjoy two days of music and family fun in the outdoor, pastoral setting of Northern Oakland County.

The Christian Music Festival for Renewed Faith will be held August 1st and 2nd, 2008, on the site of the beautiful, wooded grounds of the Springfield Oaks Park in Davisburg, Michigan. The two-day event is expected to draw 13,000 with a packed entertainment schedule that includes internationally known Christian music artists such as Vickie Winans and Marvin Winans, Jr., as well as enriching speakers, carnival rides, children’s activities and an arts and crafts fair.

In addition to the Grammy-nominated gospel singer Vickie Winans, and her son, Marvin Winans, Jr., Michael King, smooth-jazz phenomenon, Tim Bowman, The Calvarymen Quartet, The Cassens-Murphy Band, the original “Michigan Man” Mike Ridley, hip-hop artists, Bro L.A. and Apostle J, Christian funnyman Horace H.B. Sanders, comedian Phenecia Banks, Pat Dunn and Emmy-winning investigative reporter turned nationally known minister, Frank Turner, are also scheduled to appear.

The two-day music festival is being produced by Artist Management LLC, a Clarkston-based talent agency headed by Harry and his team.

All proceeds from the event will be contributed to the Michigan Christian Music Festival for Renewed Faith Foundation, a regulated nonprofit whose purpose is to support the elderly and children in need.

“We wanted to produce an event that would bring together families from all over the region in peace and worship,” said Harry, executive director of the festival. “We really saw a need to create an event that would allow people to renew their spirit and sense of hope based upon a message of peace and harmony – and, have a fantastic time while they’re at it!

“We’ve also ensured that the most vulnerable among us will receive the benefit from this event,” Harry said. “We can’t think of a greater way to unify people than rallying everyone around the goal of giving to seniors and children.”

Situated on soft, rolling hills in Northern Oakland County, the festival site invites people to come together in multiple venues – from rustic, covered picnic grounds, to relaxed nature walks, to music and inspired speaking events. The festival will also feature a children’s area adjacent to the site, complete with carnival rides, a video arcade, face painting and inflatables, an arts and crafts show, and a 300-site campground on the festival grounds.

A list of nearby campsites and alternate accommodations will also be provided.

Tickets to the event are available at Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster Online ( www.ticketmaster.com ), or by calling the festival box office at (248) 620-3652. Adult one-day tickets will cost $70 if purchased before April 30th; children will be admitted for $25 if tickets are purchased before April 30th. Church and group discounts are available, as well as a family-pack for $240.00 that admits two children and two adults for two days.

“The lineup that we’ve assembled is so varied and of such quality, that it has never been duplicated anywhere else,” Harry said. “We think this will be an event that families can put on their calendar year after year, and know that there will be something here for everyone to enjoy.”
