Saviours Tour With High On Fire; Release 3rd Lunarcast

Explosive, Oakland, CA quartet SAVIOURS will unleash its sophomore full-length album Into Abaddon on January 22 via Kemado Records.  Known for its refreshing take on the classic metal of decades past, SAVIOURS are becoming frontrunners in today’s thriving heavy metal underworld, rapidly garnering international attention as one of the best heavy bands active today.

Hot on the heels of U.S. live dates with Witchcraft and Earthless and a special New Year’s Eve performance as hand-picked support for experimental metal band Neurosis, SAVIOURS will join fellow Bay Area hessians High on Fire for a five week nationwide tour that kicks off this Thursday, January 17 in Santa Cruz, CA.  A full listing of upcoming SAVIOURS tour dates follows this message.

Episode three of an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the band’s new record has been posted online by Ground Control Magazine.  Check it out at this location.

Filmed on location at Los Angeles’ Bay Recording Studios, the special “Lunarcast” documents SAVIOURS recording and speaking about Into Abaddon, which was produced, engineered and mixed by “Evil” Joe Barresi.  Over the years, Barresi has consistently worked with quality artists and made some of their more seminal records — Tool “10,000 Days,” Melvins “Stoner Witch” and the Queens Of The Stone Age debut, to name a few.

The final track listing for Into Abaddon is as follows:

1.) Raging Embers
2.) Into Abaddon
3.) Narcotic Sea
4.) Cavern of Mind
5.) Mystichasm
6.) Firewake Angel
7.) Inner Mountain Arthame

SAVIOURS features guitarist / vocalist Austin Barber, drummer Scott Batiste, guitarist D. Tyler Morris and bassist Cyrus Comiskey.

“You know you’re playing a good set when your music not only commands the attention of the likes of J Mascis and Matt Pike, but you’re sounding so tight that it compels the two guitar greats to air shred like a couple of Maiden fans circa 1980.  Such was the case—according to eyewitnesses, anyway—at a showcase performance by Oakland’s SAVIOURS at SXSW in Austin, TX.” – DECIBEL

“SAVIOURS seem the clear favorites to champion metal’s return to prominence.  Metallica is a shadow of its former self.  Who, then, will usurp the throne?  My money is on SAVIOURS.  And rest assured, Bob Rock won’t be allowed within ten feet of these boys. Cliff Burton would be proud.” – PREFIX

“Oakland, California NWOBHM-embracers” – MTV NEWS

“This is not the ultra-cleanly produced European metal sound. This is the slightly dirty, raw, classic metal that you grew up on. SAVIOURS take classic metal influences and make them modern again.  They are every bit as Black Sabbath as they are Motorhead.  They are every bit as the Fucking Champs as they are Mastodon.  They are riff worshippers of the highest degree.” – LAMBGOAT
