Say Anything, led by creative mastermind and lyrical genius Max Bemis, will headline a nationwide club tour kicking off on March 13th in Hollywood, CA. The 28 city tour comes full circle when it concludes a little over a month later in Los Angeles, CA. The band will be joined on the road by Manchester Orchestra, Biffy Clyro and Weatherbox. Say Anything is touring in support of their sophomore album IN DEFENSE OF THE GENRE (J Records) which was released on October 23rd, 2007.

Produced and mixed by Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, mewithoutyou), IN DEFENSE OF THE GENRE is a double disc concept album. The songs recount Max’s experience of being consumed by love, having a mental breakdown, pursuing a career while having your heart crushed, picking up the pieces and becoming a better man for it.

The album ranked in SpinÂ’s 40 best albums of 2007, and the Los Angles Times declared it “…”Quadrophenia” for the white-belt set.” Rolling Stone praised it as “…invigorating” and gave it a 3 star review. The Alternative Press said “A truly magnificent sophomore effort? Guilty as charged” and gave it 4 & ½ stars. While Entertainment Weekly raved “With twice the anguished howls, twice the soul-baring lyrics, and twice the screeching guitars, this is easily one of the most ambitious artistic statements the emo scene’s decade-plus development has offered. Label it emo or whatever you like, but this is gloriously conflicted pop for the musically omnivorous.”

The video for “Baby Girl, I’m A Blur,” the first single off the critically acclaimed album, is currently in heavy rotation at MTV2 and MTVu. “Wow! I Can Get Sexual Too” the second single off their debut album recently won the MTVu ‘Woodie Award’ for Best Video.

Say Anything is comprised of Max Bemis (Vocals), Coby Linder (Drums), Alex Kent (Bass), Parker Case (Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals), and twin brothers Jake and Jeff Turner (Guitars,Vocals).

The bandÂ’s debut album Â…Is A Real Boy received extraordinary amounts of praise from the press (Alternative Press, Spin, Variety, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Blender, Village Voice, NY Times, LA Times, and more) and has sold 200,000 albums since its release in 2006.
