The Fool #3 / Half Sized / 16 Pages / Free? / [email protected]

A small zine, which still remarkably tells me a lot about the author, The Fool #3 shows someone that is still working everything out in eir’s life. While ey is against uses of gay and retarded to describe things (showing a somewhat enlightened outlook), ey still uses the terms good and bad guy. While individuals may say that “guy” is not a gender specific noun, I would still beg to differ. The Pool is edited completely on computer, with images inserted either just before or after printing, and the font does not change besides the point size. While each page of The Pool has a great deal of white text on it, I still feel as if there is a great deal of content on each page. Reading the issue make take an individual no less than 15 minutes, but one will definitely feel intellectually full. In this issue, a poem about an OD is meshed with colorful metaphor of a bird, which escapes me. Is the bird the stomach pump, or am I just being incredibly dense and am missing an answer right in front of my face? Rants about Bjork (favorable) and Avril Lavigne (most definitely not favorable) are this issue’s only forays into music, while “Censored Sin” is the only piece of art completely made by a human hand. I am absolutely sure that the editor would love comments and requests for The Fool, and look out – a new issue is probably on the horizon, as I was given this at AMC.
