RADIO MOSCOW European dates February/March

Everything about Radio Moscow is unexpected. Their home base of Ames,
Iowa, suggests a Midwest corn-fed Roots Rock direction while their name
gives off the vibe of a twinkly, blinky Techno outfit. But neither could
be further from the truth. The Blues/Rock power trio is a marvel of
construction and evolution.

After seeing the Black Keys at a Colorado gig, Griggs managed to get a
Radio Moscow demo into Auerbach’s hands. Suitably impressed, he contacted
Griggs and offered to produce his first album at Auerbach’s Akron studio.
The resulting work bristles with the thunderous anthemics of Cream, the
acid-scorched bombast of Blue Cheer, the psychedelic rush of the Amboy
Dukes, the sneering Pre-Punk of the MC5 and the Blues cool of Peter
Green-era Fleetwood Mac, all with the crisp modern verve of the White
Stripes, Black Keys and Comets on Fire. Parker Griggs and Radio Moscow
prove conclusively that the kids — and their elemental Blues Rock
influences — are indeed alright. – City Beat
