Los Angeles, California–Thursday, January 24Comedian/actor Katt Williams, the little man with the big talent is already making 2008 a year to remember as the Year of the Katt despite the Chinese calendar marking 2008 as the Year of the Rat and 2008 is only two weeks old! Katt Williams is definitely on the come up. After a star turn in the box office hit First Sunday ($19 million its first weekend) with Ice Cube, this supremely gifted funnyman is set to take the music industry by storm with the release of his highly anticipated first music CD, the richly layered, musically satisfying and star studded It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ Introducing Katt Williams and The Secret Pimp Society (Katt Pack Records/Eyecon/Fontana/UMGD). Katt has also been selected by venerable entertainment taste-maker Jet magazine as one of the 10 HOTTEST PEOPLE TO WATCH IN 2008 in the cover story of the January 14 edition of Jet. With a hit film in theaters and the new music CD It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ coming this year, Katt Williams is jumping off in 2008 just like a cat on a hot tin roof!

This high powered debut keeps it popping with Hip Hop heavyweight guest artists
Lil Wayne, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Da Brat, Paul Wall, Lil Jon, Mike Jones, Lyfe Jennings, MC Lyte, E-40 and more!  When the new CD goes on sale nationwide, a Best of Katt Williams comedy DVD will be attached. The first single will be Gotta Shine featuring Paul Wall & Mike Jones.

“Everything, everywhere is comedy material. I watch and view the world via television, newspapers, movies and music, then translate our world into funny as I see it. There is no subject where funny doesn’t exist,” Katt says. He certainly has a lot of experience to draw from. Born in Cincinnati and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Williams was the product of a socially and politically charged household. His parents’ influence and teachings caused him to briefly join the Nation of Islam while living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Katt Williams’ talent and exposure extends over multiple mediums. Starting with his stand up days in Los Angeles at The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Icehouse and even The Hollywood Park Casino, where he had a large, loyal following. Katt Williams has become somewhat of a comedic staple on the BET Network, appearing on shows such as Comic View, Rip the Runway, Black Carpet, 106th & Park, The BET Comedy Awards and even a successful turn as Host of The 2006 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Throughout his successful rise in the entertainment industry,
Katt, whose original breakout film role was as the unforgettable “Money Mike” in Ice Cubes’ theatrical hit Friday After Next, has been massively embraced by the Hip Hop community. Katt has also gained maximum exposure and critical acclaim performing on television for three seasons as an integral part of Nick Cannon’s highly rated MTV improvisational show, Wild n’ Out. Katt has also appeared in numerous music videos for everyone from Outkast (Roses) and Ludacris (Stand Up & Number One Spot) to E-40 (One Night Stand) and Lil’ Kim (Shut Up/Lighter’s Up), in addition to landing many other significant roles on the small and big screen.

And now with It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ Katt Williams is returning the embrace that Hip Hop has extended to him with his debut music CD. “I’m in the great comedian lane. Once you’re in that lane, that’s just the beginning of it. The getting there is the journey,” Katt said.
