Strecker is a veteran of the rhythm rock / blue scene having toured with such acts as Asleep At The Wheel, Shawn Colvin and the Bill Strecker Band, sharing the stage with the likes of Jaco Pastorious, Steve Goodman, and Richie Havens, and working with legendary manager Albert Grossman (Bob Dylan, Todd Rundgren). On his recent solo effort ‘Smoke & Clouds’, Strecker has created a record that comes from the soul and is winning over the Bob Seger, Neil Young and Tom Petty faithful. The current single ‘Slow Down Darlin’ has been making an impact at Americana & AAA radio and is now in rotation at over 30 stations, with the CD up to #185 on the AMA chart.

“…smart songs, tempered by living and still leavened by dreams. They’re folk, rock and country, and they’re a welcome breeze for anyone who simply enjoys a good record.”
– David Hinckley, NY Daily News

A copy of the CD for review is on its way and should be arriving shortly, we are hoping you could help spread the word on the site about the record. We are seeking reviews, interviews, news items, contests, streaming promotions etc. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  1. Good to see your passing mention of Bill Strecker having opened for Steve Goodman. Goodman often doesn’t get his due. You might be interested in my new 800-page biography, “Steve Goodman: Facing the Music.”

You can find out more at my Internet site (below). The book’s first printing just sold out, all 5,000 copies, and a second edition of 5,000 is available now. The second edition includes hundreds of little updates and additions, including 30 more photos for a total of 575.

To order a second-printing copy, see the “online store” page of my site. Just trying to spread word about the book. Feel free to do the same!
