For Country Music’s biggest voice, Martina McBride, the sky’s the limit this summer as she takes her “Waking Up Laughing Tour” outdoors to over twenty-five amphitheaters. After a successful arena run, in both the US and Canada, this extension will offer fans the opportunity to take in hit after hit in a completely different environment.

“We at Live Nation are very excited to be working with Martina this summer,” said VP of Nashville Touring, Brian O’Connell. “Martina is unquestionably one of the biggest stars in the entertainment world and this summer we look forward to seeing her under the stars!”

Released in April of 2007 McBride’s record, Waking Up Laughing, included the smash hit “Anyway” which was nominated for three CMA Awards, and is currently nominated for CMT Music Awards Female Video of the Year. Proving she has the performance chops to back up the studio cuts, the “Waking Up Laughing” Arena Tour was ranked by Pollstar as a top ten tour in all genres, top five country tour, and the number one solo-female country tour.

“McBride brought the crowd to its feet and enjoyed a standing ovation, in the middle of her set no less,” noted the Grand Rapids Press of a recent show.

“McBride possesses the most powerful set of pipes of any woman in contemporary country music, a ringing mezzo-soprano that splits syllables with pitch-perfect precision and sustains notes with seemingly effortless aplomb,” raved the San Francisco Chronicle.

With five number one hits, and twenty-two top tens to pull from, Martina’s set is sure to give the audience everything they want and more, including “Blessed,” “A Broken Wing,” and “Wild Angels.” In addition, McBride mixes it up with covers of country classics like Loretta Lynn’s “You Aint Woman Enough” and a rendition of “Over the Rainbow” that would make the toughest of men tear up just a little. Her mega-anthems like “Independence Day” and “Anyway” might just blow the roof off the house, if there were one.

“This One’s For the Girls”… that’s one way to describe the special guests. Continuing on the tour with Martina will be Texas based singer-songwriter Jack Ingram who has wowed audiences with his intensely entertaining live show and two newcomers Chris Young (on through Aug. 30) and Jason Michael Carroll (Sept. 19 – Oct. 11).

After a decade of critical acclaim, Jack Ingram’s breakthrough album, This Is It, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Country Album Chart. His #1 smash single “Wherever You Are” kicked off a clean sweep of hits that was followed by the Top Ten tongue-in-cheek rocker, “Love You;” Jack’s rendition of “Lips of an Angel;” “Measure of a Man,” and his current hit single, the romantic lament, “Maybe She’ll Get Lonely.”

Chris Young burst onto the country music scene two years ago with his self-titled debut album, which was the highest selling debut by a new male country act for all of 2006 and earned him his first Academy of Country Music nomination in 2007 for Top New Male. The 22 year-old is rooted in his love of traditional country music but has taken his 10+

years of live stage experience and crafted his own version of what is today’s country music. His sophomore album set to release this summer is a true representation of Young’s incredible musicianship and showcases his amazing gift – his voice.

Billboard’s Top New Country Artist of 2007, Arista Nashville recording artist Jason Michael Carroll exploded onto the scene with the release of his first album, Waitin’ in the Country, which debuted at #1 in its first week on the country album chart. Having drawn praise from such outlets as USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, and many more, Carroll kicked off 2008 with his debut performance on Good Morning America. With back-to-back Top 5 singles to his credit (“Alyssa Lies” and “Livin’ Our Love Song”), Carroll is on the charts now with his latest hit, “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead.”

Whether on the road, or in the studio, there is seemingly nothing that McBride cannot accomplish. The multi-platinum-songstress has earned a Grammy Award, CMA Female Vocalist of the Year four times (a tied record she shares with Reba McEntire) and currently is nominated for the 2008 ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. To date McBride has sold over 16 million albums. Recently she released her first ever live CD/DVD entitled Martina McBride: Live in Concert.
