And to reward their devoted army of rabid fans, the band has announced that it will record the entire show for a live DVD that Warner Bros. Records will release later this year. The DVD will be directed by Core Entertainment’s Rafa Alcantra, who also worked on the band’s riotous 2007 road documentary All Excess. The DVD package will also include a CD of seven previously unreleased b-sides that were recorded during the making of the band’s current self-produced album Avenged Sevenfold.

“We wanted to scheme up something big for our hometown crowd because we have the best fans in the world,” says lead singer M. Shadows. “We’ll be bringing it harder than we have for any stop on this tour. We’re ready to blow the roof off!”

Footage from the Long Beach Arena show, as well as from previous shows, will be used in the upcoming music video for “Dear God,” the second single from the band’s current album. The first single, “Almost Easy,” was a Top 10 hit at Active Rock, went Top 20 at Alternative, and was the Number One Most Played Video on Fuse.

The follow-up to the 2005 million-selling City of Evil, Avenged Sevenfold topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard, and Rock charts the week after its release on October 30th, 2007. It also debuted at Number Four on the Billboard Top 200, marking the biggest sales week ever for the quintet. Critics have praised the album with Revolver declaring it a “magnum opus” and “the work of five extremely talented and deeply industrious musicians,” while Entertainment Weekly declares Avenged Sevenfold’s “musicianship is unimpeachable.”
