Life In A Glass House #2 / 52 Pages / Fourth-Sized / $3 / Madison Eliza, PO Box 261, Westerville, OH 43086-0261 / http://www.andwedrown.com /

Madison is a shy individual who typically has a problem talking to random people. Now, ey really gets a kick out of putting out this zine, which obviously goes to a number of different stranger. And ey really doesn’t mind, saying that “when I do this, I don’t care that I don’t know the person I’m writing to.” The zine starts out with a description of the car ride and later visit by a friend that Madison had met on the internet, named Chris. The typical feelings of doubt, the questions like “what if he’s not who he says he is, what if he’s not like he is when we talk online surround Madison, but no worries – Chris is everything that Madison thought ey would be. This issue of Life In A Glass House also discusses the previous dreams of Madison, in that ey always wanted to be a writer at a younger age. And, trying to get back into it, a few fiction pieces are scattered through the issue. I had a little problem trying to discern fiction from reality, as eir’s Stinebeck-like rich descriptions of events are equally likely to be found in eir’s prose as they are in eir poetry. The little pieces of fiction seem too something – too rushed, too short, or too both of those? Still, Madison puts out a good issue that really helps me to get to know eir, and even though the high price might turn some people from buying the issue, I would suggest you give Life In A Glass House a chance before discounting it.
