Meatsheet #6 ($1, no address listed)

This zine is black and white interview-oriented, but still has the feel of being a small-market zine. All the reviews/interviews/ writing is done by one John Meat, and I can only assume that he does the background set-ups for the magazine. If so, the magazine looks pretty professional while still having that totally DIY feel to it. I feel like I am missing something with this issue of Meatsheet, as the zine opens up with John saying that Meatsheet might be pretty un-pc, but the only thing that might even be considered to be un-pc is the interview with K.C. Armstrong from the Howard Stern show, and the questions are professionally-written. However, the most interesting piece in this issue would have to be the interview that John Meat does with the Touch Tone Terrorists, an individual who makes money off phone pranking. Other interviews include a two-part piece with Count Me Out, Burnt by the Sun, and a post-humous one will Balance of Terror. The reviews in Meatsheet are plentiful and small, and yet they also tell individuals if the band sounds good and who else they sound like. The only thing I could conceivably ask that Meatsheet could do would be to increase the font size. Some of these pieces are laid out in about 5 point text, and even for those with perfect eyesight, a headache may be imminent. Still, a short and sweet zine!
