Album Out June 17, Single Available on iTunes April 29

Baltimore’s art-school quartet Ponytail is very excited to announce their third release and first on Baltimore imprint and Yeasayer home, We Are Free, called Ice Cream Spiritual. The band had a chance to show off their goods at SXSW this past month and more than a few witnesses highlighted their live shows in their “Best Of” recaps.

The record comes out June 17th—-but don’t fret! You can get a sneak peak of Ponytail’s spazzterpiece on April 29th when their single, “Celebrate the Body Electric (It Came From an Angel),” will be released on iTunes. For now, you can find a stream of it here!
 Ponytail Press Quotes:
“Giving a Deerhoof-like scissor kick to traditional song structure…jerks froms No Age’s loose, trilling ambience to wiry, explosive bursts, with spaghetti Western backing vocals and Siegel chirping something like, “Awaywegonowawaywego!”… before long everything goes berserk again. It’s all enough to make you believe in the spirituality of ice cream. Away we go to 31 flavors.” – Pitchfork

“the first single from Ice Cream Spiritual…opening ambiance (that upward shot of strings) and Molly Siegel’s tongues-speaking doggerrel and savant Yoko-isms are hard to forget…it’s worth seeing ’em do this stuff live, too…” – Stereogum
“Known for its infectious jams and barnyard noise lyrics, Ponytail is a Baltimore Art School four-piece with the pomp and preposterousness to become the next buzzing indie darling.” – Impose Magazine
