Lauren Canyon based troubadour and MVP guitar slinger JONATHAN WILSON made an unexpected appear in the March issue of Black Book Magazine, featured in a photo spread with actress Rachel Nichols. You’ll find Jonathan strumming his guitar laid out beside her, helping bathe her, riding horses, and other bucolic past-times.

More importantly, since Koch’s iTunes exclusive release of his first proper solo record last Summer, Jonathan’s made records with Phil Lesh, Gary Louris, Chris Robinson and has assembled a new still-unnamed band that’ll be touring in May opening for his friends Vetiver — to whose upcoming third album, “Thing of The Past” he contributes guitar.

This year, he’s contributed to upcoming releases by Jenny Lewis, Maria Taylor and Elvis Costello. On the latter he plays lead guitar and sings. In addition, he’s been playing informally with Jack Tempchin (composer of Eagles’ hit “Peaceful Easy Feelin'”) and the two plan to start writing together. Wilson is about to start recording with avant-folk icons Currituck County.

His song “Gentle Spirit” is already getting airplay on Jonesey’s Jukebox on L.A’s 103.1
