NEVERDIE – No Rock uN Rolled / 2008 Club NEVERDIE / 14 Tracks / http://www.realityport.com

NEVERDIE start their “No Rock uN Rolled” with a fun, funky and bluesy brand of rock music that was created by Jon Jacobs. Individuals may know Jacobs as the owner of Club Neverdie, the most-visited venue for entertainment in the MMORPG Entropia University. “No Rock uN Rolled” was produced by Paul Inder, son of Lemmy (Motorhead). I could not think of a better combination, as Jacobs’ vocals during a track like “New Vu Blues” have a definite Motorhead influence to them. In much the same way that Club Neverdie is a blend of electronic and organic, the style of music that is present during “No Rock uN Rolled” takes on different influences and genres of music (electronic, dance, techno) that would normally not be associated with the gritty, down-and-dirty rock of NEVERDIE.

“Neverdie” (featuring the amazing vocals of Cheri London) is a dance track that straddles the line between more disco-influenced types of dance music and the more current, electronic-heavy dance style. Regardless of the type of dance music that gets you on the dance floor, Cheri’s vocals here will ensure that you get on the dance floor. The disc takes a 180 with “Runaway Track”, which is a 50’s rock type of track down to the snarl that is present in Jacobs’ vocals. While there may be hints of surf and lounge during this track, there is little inherent in this track that limits it to a specific time period. It is this timelessness that is cultivated through each of the 14 tracks on “No Rock uN Rolled”, and why this disc will sound just as vibrant and lively in 2028 as it did in 2008.

Despite all of the songs being solid in their own right, it is really during “Gamer Chick” that the disc shines most brightly. The track starts off with a downtempo, atmospheric type of sound, moving into a dance track that blends equal part Eiffel 65 with Gabber music. “Gamer Chick” is a comparable microcosm to the whole that is “No Rock uN Rolled”, as there are a number of influences and genres touched during the track in the space of four minutes. Make sure you pick up a copy of “No Rock uN Rolled” before you make it out to Club Neverdie, as it really captures the spirit of the club. Furthermore, the tracks are catchy, fun, and are eclectic enough to keep individuals listening in for months to come.
