With Pete Tong moving on to pastures new, Pure Pacha has taken a creative route for 2008 with a forward thinking mixture of established and emerging talent. Confirmed guests include; Basement Jaxx, Faithless and Fedde Le Grand who are monthly residents; plus Paul Oakenfold, Trentemoller and other talent to be announced soon. Expect to see spectacular live performances too – so watch this space!
DJ / VJ extraordinaire Sander Kleinenberg and Swedish legend Axwell take over the coveted roles of Pure Pacha residents for the summer.
Sander has been on tour for the past year playing some if the best sets of his career coupled with amazing visuals; courtesy of the new Pioneer audio visual mixer that he has helped develop. Pioneer will be joining Sander this summer to showcase cutting edge visual delights using their revolutionary dvj’ing technology. You will not see a show like this anywhere else on the island!
“Pacha is a club with such a legacy and historically, Friday is their busiest evening.” says Sander “It’s a great showroom to be DJ’ing in a place where people come to celebrate. I’m very honoured.”
As one of the leading figures in dance music today, you will be hard pushed to find a DJ who does not have an Axwell track or remix in their record box. A DJ who has found the perfect balance of blending underground house with accessible sounds and an energy that infects every dance floor.
Joining Axwell will be fellow Swedes Steve Angello & Sebastien Ingrosso – these guys are truly unstoppable right now, having whipped up a worldwide frenzy with their unique style of play. Pure Pacha will also be doing its bit in breaking new talent with 4 exclusive live shows by South African duo Goldfish… remember, you saw them here first! Pacha London, Brazil & Barcelona will also be hosting parties.
Celebrating 10 years of The Lick, Trevor Nelson joins Pure Pacha this year for the first time… A pioneer of the UK urban music scene, Trevor has traditionally hosted the Global Room on a Saturday but this year was invited to make the move to Pure Pacha. Trevor will be in charge of providing the Pacha glitterati with a soundtrack of smooth grooves, soul, funk and upfront R & B. He will also be joined by Maxi Jazz of Faithless, exclusively for four dates throughout the summer.
We asked head honcho Danny Whittle who he was most looking to forward to seeing this year, his answer was simple… “To be honest all of them!†Where will you be partying this summer?
