With over 200k in sales of their 3 full lengths, a remix record and 3 EPÂ’s to date and emboldened by their wildly successful tour history and over 90k in concert tickets sold, Minus the Bear has established itself as one of the most successful indie rock bands in the US.

Minus the BearÂ’s latest release Planet of Ice was one of the best reviewed albums of 2007, selling over 60k in under 9 months time. With first week sales of 10K, Planet of Ice secured the band its first Billboard Top 200 chart entry (#74). The band also made the Billboard Independent (#8), Alternative (#22) and Digital (#30) charts all in its first week out and reentered the Billboard top 200 at #198 after 5 weeks of its release.

At radio, Planet of Ice spent over 7 weeks in the top 10 on the CMJ Top 200 chart, peaking at #4. With commercial specialty, it achieved a career high peaking at #3 on the FMQB charts. The band played such high profile radio stations WXPN, KROX and two performances at Seattle based station KEXP.

Planet of Ice received raves and notices from outlets across the globe like MTV, NPR, SPIN, Alternative Press, URB, Filter, Harp, The Onion, LA Times and many more. MTV christened Minus the Bear one of its 52 Bands this past September and the band were featured in over 11 hoursof promo on the main network. Both videos from Planet of Ice,“Knights” and the recent “Throwin’ Shapes”received heavy rotation airplay on MTVU and on MTV2Â’s Subterranean.

In 2007, Minus the Bear SOLD OUT venues across the country with appearances at Sasquatch! Music Festival, ChicagoÂ’s Download Festival and SeattleÂ’s ENDfest. In November, the band made their way to Europe for another wildly successful run of sellouts. In early 2008, the band toured to Australia and Japan, before returning to the US for yet another fast selling SOLD OUT US headline tour this past pring that included stops at Langerado and Coachella. Additional summer festivals include, Bonnaroo and Pemberton.
