Scorpi-Oh #4/28 Pages. Another fabulous zine by the equally fabulous Joolie. This time, the theme (if you can call it that) of the zine is the Ladyfest, an event about which I was totally unaware. Well, at least I can say I know a little bit about what it entails, even if I cannot ever go to it. There are lyrics about in this magazine, and by far the best is “A Million Miles Away” by the Plimsouls, a song I absolutely love. Also, more interesting coloring schemes are used in this magazine, which are trademarks of Joolie’s work. The mix tape guidelines piece provides some valuable instructions to those who still make mix tapes, a number which seemingly decreases every day. I love the lack of self-esteem Joolie has towards her drawings, as her worst drawing could simply clobber my best on any day of the week. Finally, the last piece that I feel should be revealed is “Gum Bum”, in which Joolie looks into the phenomenon that occurs when someone gets gum, and it is immediately sucked up by anyone in the vicinity.
