I want to make sure that a songwriting contest is on your radar. The film Henry Poole is Here releases in August through Overture Films. This is a movie with some amazing themes of hope, faith, belief, miracles. So to celebrate, the film company has created a contest to find a song that fits the film.

Any song titled “Henry Poole is Here” can be submitted, and the song needs to follow the same themes of the film. The winning song will be featured on the film’s DVD release, and the band will have a video shot by the film’s director, Mark Pellington (U2 3D, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen). This could be an amazing launch for an unsigned artist.

The soundtrack already features artists like Bob Dylan, Badly Drawn Boy, The Eels, Blur and Ben Harper, so the winning artist will be in good company.

I have attached the trailer and the press release, and would appreciate if you would help spread the word. Artists watch the trailer for inspiration, and can submit their songs at myspace.com/henrypooleishere
