Evidence One is one of the most talented groups on the contemporary melodic rock scene, paying homage to traditional hard rock while in the same time sharpening it with a hard metal edge. “Tattooed Heart” is their second full-length release and one of their best – it contains all the elements that make a band worth your attention: great musicianship, passionate vocals and a powerful message. If you think that you know all about modern rock music – think again…

“Tattooed Heart” was officially released on November 15th, 2004, bringing ten electrifying tracks, all deeply rooted in the best hard rock traditions. Starting with a hypnotizing Egyptian intro comes the album’s first highlight – the charismatic “Moonsigh”, a track that Ronnie James Dio wished he had composed. It’s followed by a straight-forward rocker “Virus In My Veins”, one of the catchiest songs on the LP. Other highlights include the epic title track, the beautiful ballad “In Love And War”, the stadium anthem “Anything I Need To Know” and the closing “Child of Insanity”. Reviewers often mentioned the powerful and melodic vocals by Carsten Schulz, comparing him to such singers as Goran Edman (Time Requiem, ex-Yngwie Malsteen), Don Doken (Doken) and David Coverdale (ex-Deep Purple, Whitesnake). The band’s music, on the other hand, was often described as a mixture of Northern Europe melodic metal in the vain of Bonfire, Pretty Maids and Madison, and U.S.-based hard rock, as played by Joshua or late Leatherwolf. “Tattooed Heart” is much more polished than the debut release – the group’s goal was to make an epic album and they certainly succeeded. With brilliant artwork designed by Thomas Ewerhard (who previously worked with Edguy and Spock’s Beard), the LP was a shining gem on the European melodic rock scene…

Bio
Evidence One was formed in 2001 in Baden-Württemberg, Germany by guitarist Robby Böbel (known from Frontline) and vocalist Carsten “Lizard” Schulz (ex-Domain). What was at first considered a musical joke, soon turned into a regular band, as the debut material called “Criticize The Truth” got a lot of positive feedback. Therefore, with the help of Thomas “Hutch” Bauer (bass), Wolfgang Schimmer (guitar) and Rami Ali (drums), Evidence One transformed into a full-time project. The debut album got released in 2002 through Point Music, but thanks to the efforts of Mat Sinner (known from such bands as Sinner and Primal Fear) the group soon changed their label to none other than the acclaimed Nuclear Blast Records. This time Evidence One took the recording of their album very seriously and after two years of hard work (interrupted by performances at such prominent festivals as “Gods of AOR”, “Earthshaker Fest” and Wacken Open Air”, and a tour alongside heavy metal heroes Saxon) they came up with a true melodic rock masterpiece…

After releasing a video clip for the song “Virus In My Veins”, Evidence One started a series of shows, supporting such acclaimed artists as Axel Rudi Peel, The Scorpions, Krokus and Alice Cooper. In 2006 the band begun working on their third album, again with Robby Böbel as producer. Böbel eventually left the group to focus on the production aspect, giving his position as a guitarist to Joerg “Warthy” Wartmann. Before finishing their third LP, Evidence One gave a brilliant performance on the first “Rock of Ages Festival”, accompanied by such celebrities as UFO, Gotthard, Twisted Sister, Uriah Heep and Glenn Hughes. On July 30th, 2007, the band released their third LP entitled “The Sky Is The Limit” – so far, their greatest achievement…
Evidence One is one of the true highlights of the modern melodic rock scene. With “Tattooed Heart” you’ll find all the best elements of the genre – skill, melody and pure rock’n’roll. This is a ride that you simply cannot miss out on!
