Street Pixie is a DIY/anarchist/nomad per-polit-zine. There are an incredible amount of pieces to feast upon in this issue for people of all stripes. There is poetry, prose, how-to pieces, art, and tons more. For one dollar, it really is a steal. The layout of the pieces is probably the only thing to be changed, as there seems to be various “lumps” of material that seem to drag the moment of the zine down. While the prose poetry written by Allison in a section of the zine is quite well done, it is all together and individuals may feel a bit logy after such an extensive focus on these pieces. Fortunately, the quotes that follow these pieces really do much to bring the zine back to a fever pitch. However, I feel that the most important pieces of this issue of Street Pixie really come in the recipes and the reprinted “Contents of Your Daily Life”, which are laid out together. The very simple vegan-friendly recipes are always helpful, as there still is only the most miniscule fraction of vegan recipes to the books and books of non-vegan friendly pieces. “The Contents of Your Daily Life” is a written epiphany designed to shock individuals into rethinking the monotony that they consider work (with such statements as “Can you put a value on a beautiful day, when the birds are singing and people are walking around together?”). Street Pixie has someone that just does not talk about what needs to be done, but someone that actually does that. Smartly using methods described in the “Health and Safety in Militant Actions” zine, Rosie struggles against the system. This zine has everything, and it is only a dollar (or trade). Find eir and get a copy, maybe treat eir to dinner too!
