This is a zine that I traded for off the zinesters livejournal, and I am just pretty impressed with the orderliness of this zine. Everything, including text and pictures, is based on the straight-line, decreasing the chaos of the magazine and providing one with an even easier read. While this zine is short, I still feel like that I am able to gain from it the briefest glimpses of who Rae (the Editor) is, with her poetry and related pieces. While there is only one instance of non-computer/typewriter text in the magazine, I still feel closer to Rae than I would in the typical zine sense. Her poetry, cut into short lines, really shows the bluntness of the world in which she lives. The pictures that she uses also lend themselves well to the piece which they background, something that even the greatest of zines fail to accomplish. Still, I am left wanting more with the magazine, as 16 forth sized pages are just not enough for me to properly feel any sort of empathy with the writer. I understand that this is a first issue, and that her following issues will probably lend themselves a lot better to their intended audience, but as a reviewer reading just this piece, I still find myself asking questions about the editor herself. This only poses a problem since I have to feel some sort of link with the editor themselves before I can actually look at the work in the proper context.
