As they come off of their tour with Aimee Mann, THE SUBMARINES have been asked to join the Brazilian Girls on a handful of west coast dates before appearing at the LA Weekly Detour Festival on October 4 (tour dates below).

Meanwhile, during all of September, the indie-pop duo will be a contender in Yahoo!’s Who’s Next?: Users’ Choice, a voting program in which four artists compete against one another to win the most votes; the audience has the opportunity to pick who they feel has the greatest chance for future success. In October, the band’s track “Xavia” will be featured in the upcoming feature film and on the soundtrack to Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, starring Michael Cera.

The Submarines have had an exciting and busy summer. After touring behind their new album Honeysuckled Weeks (May 08), the band was asked to join Aimee Mann on tour for a sold out east coast run. At the same time, their track “You, Me and the Bourgeoisie” was used in the new iPhone commercial, the video for the same song was featured on YouTube, and the band landed on iTunes “Hot Indie Rock” list. In the past month alone, the duo has appeared on shows like Fuel TV’s “The Daily Habit”, ABC News Now and TV Guide mVids, as well as been featured on Style.com and in ReadyMade Magazine.
