After nearly 50 major film and TV placements since the release of their 2006 Nettwerk debut album Say I Am You and 2008 follow up Hideaway, THE WEEPIES land their biggest spotlight yet. The duo-Deb Talan and Steve Tannen-will play themselves on the Wednesday, October 22 (10:00 pm et/pt) episode of the ABC hit television series DIRTY SEXY MONEY, performing the song “Somebody Loved” from their very first album as a pair, Happiness (released independently in 2004). The Weepies appear as the favorite band of character Nola Lyons, played by new cast member Lucy Liu, and will also have “All That I Want” used as a background track during the same episode.

The band is no stranger to the film and TV world. Last winter, their music was used in the holiday campaigns for both Old Navy and JC Penny, which generated over 220,000 track downloads and over 2 million views on their MySpace page. Their song “All This Beauty” from their most recent album Hideaway was featured in Sex and The City: The Movie, as well as on the soundtrack. The band has also had countless placements on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, The Riches, and many more. Their Nettwerk debut held the #1 spot on the iTunes folk chart – in eight countries. Since 2006, the album has been in the #1 spot on the US iTunes chart for over 50 weeks; in the top ten for over 100.

In April, Hideaway entered the Billboard Top 200 at #31. The album was also #4 on the Billboard Digital Album chart, and peaked at #1 on eMusic, #2 on Amazon and #3 on iTunes. The band has toured the world, selling out shows from Boston to Liverpool. Last fall, The Weepies had another debut, Theo, their first child and latest muse.
