Country music is no stranger to the golf green. Vince Gill, Charlie Daniels, John Michael Montgomery, Glen Campbell, George Strait, Clay Walker, Steve Azar, and Marty Roe are among a few of Country’s golf fanatics. But in a recent Golf Digest study of the Top 100 golfers in music, The Gatlin Brothers dominated the pack… with all three brothers scoring within the Top Ten.

Rudy Gatlin, the youngest of the brothers, topped the list in the #1 position, with Steve coming in at #7 and Larry following at #8.

The study lists The Gatlin Brothers ahead of golfer-musicians like Celine Dion, Vince Neil, Darius Rucker, George Strait, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson, Kid Rock, and Harry Connick Jr.

Vince Gill managed to hold a lead over the two older Gatlins, weighing in at the #4 position.

“Let it be known abroad,” Larry Gatlin said after hearing the news, “I would like to play Vince for his dreams. “Love, his old friend, Larry!”

The Gatlin Brothers recently broke the news of their return to Nashville for the first time in 16 years to release a new album. Currently scheduled for a 1st quarter 2009 release through Curb Records, the brothers are hard at work doing what they do best – singing!
