MAZEfilms, an independent film production company based in Brussels, Belgium, with a branch in LA, announced today its first horror film “CORNERED!,” which was made-in-America, is ready for the market.

“First and foremost, viewers must be able to enjoy a movie, regardless of gore or dark undertones,” explained Managing Director Daniel Maze, MAZEfilms, Inc. “That’s why we added unexpected humor to ‘CORNERED!’ and married it with a strong plot.”

The horror movie features a serial killer, who targets LA convenience stores, torturing and murdering victims in creative ways — and then stealing surveillance tapes as trophies.

In the movie, everyone is talking about the sensational series of crimes. At a downtown liquor store, a beer delivery man, Morty (Steve Guttenberg: “Cocoon,” “Police Academy,” “3 Men and a Baby”), his motley friends and the store owner, Steve (Eduardo Garcia: “No Country for Old Men”), fantasize about catching the killer — and snagging a $500,000 reward.

“It was fun, creative and it was something I got to do that I have never done before,” said Actor Steve Guttenberg, who stars as Morty. “I’m happy to be here and make it work.”

“Everything has to start with a good script, and we have a good script,” said Actor Eduardo Garcia, who plays Steve in the movie.

Confident that the liquor store is safe and secure, Steve and his poker buddies — Jimmy (James Duval: “Donnie Darko,” “Independence Day,” “Gone in 60 Seconds”), Jess (Elizabeth Nicole: “7th Heaven”), Donny (Peter Story: “Ugly Betty,” “CSI”) and Mona (Ellia English: “Good Luck Chuck,” “The Jamie Foxx Show”), lock themselves in and settle down for their nightly game.

“Everyone here is really excited about the project, this character was fun to play,” said Actor James Duval.

A suspenseful “who-done-it” with a refreshing spin on the classic horror film, ‘CORNERED!’ will have you squirming.

“They did a great job in bringing a lot of great people together,” said Actress Elizabeth Nicole, who plays Jess.

The horror movie’s drunken fun quickly turns into heinous murder and players begin to disappear one by one. Their only hope for outside help is eliminated when the resident bum, Jacko (David Jean Thomas: “G.I. Joe”, “Star Trek”), is gruesomely killed. The movie begs the question — can the dwindling number of survivors stop the killer before he finds the basement filled with butcher’s tools and puts them to his demonic use?

Actor Peter Story — Donny — commented this way on the harmony of the cast and crew, “Making movies is like trying to paint a painting with an army, and I think that the army that Daniel (Maze) has put together worked well together.”

“When I first read the script, what did I think of it? I fell in love with it,” said Actress Ellia English, Mona. “This is the one, the one that will be up there with the best of the horror films.”

Actor David Jean Thomas, Jacko, said “A dynamic script to work on quantifying many characters. What fun!”
