Hot on the heels of a successful sophomore release and tour, the Nashville collective of nationally recognized artists band together for a holiday tour to support the Ten out of Tenn Christmas compilation out November 11 and co-sponsored by American Songwriter Magazine and TOM’s Shoes. The disc features a blend of a mix of originals and traditional holiday tunes.

Produced by TOT’s own K.S. Rhoads, the singer/songwriter reflects, “When Katie Herzig came in and started singing “Silent Night,” I felt like it was a moment in time as if I’d just discovered Dolly Parton.” He continues, “I feel so humbled to producing a compilation record. All the artists are bringing their different styles and I’m blown away by all of their talent.”

TOT co-founder Trent Dabbs adds, “It’s difficult to distinguish the songs on the album that are classic Christmas and those that were just written for the album.”

A unique aspect of the Ten out of Tenn tour is the dynamic of the entire cast of musicians showcasing the depth, range and diversity in a songwriter-in-the-round style of performance that has drawn rave reviews from fans and critics alike:

“Any performer on that stage could mount a credible bid for mega-stardom. This delegation of indie talent bodes extremely well for the future of Nashville’s music scene.” – Jason Killingsworth, Paste Magazine

“It’s a special thing to witness an artist on the edge of stardom, seeing it times ten is all the more electrifying.” – Popmatters.com

ABOUT TEN OUT OF TENN:
Conceptualized in 2004 by recording artist Trent Dabbs and his wife Kristen, Ten Out Of Tenn Volume 1 debuted in 2005 with an extensive national tour partnered by Myspace.com and Paste Magazine.

Three years later, TOT was revived with the release of Volume 2 and subsequent tour. The disc represents a stellar line-up of major label as well as independent artists whose music has been featured in film and television, praised by critics/tastemakers and who’ve logged thousands of miles performing at marquee venues across the country.

TOT continues to challenge the stereotype of what it means to be a Nashville artist:

“The average person’s knowledge of Music City consists of televised Tim McGraw concerts and Bluebird Cafe T-shirts. But there’s a mostly overlooked community of musicians behind Nashville’s glitz. Ten out of Tenn is a group of independent, Nashville-based musicians who have a lot more to offer than rhinestones and country-pop.” – Paste Magazine

“Nashville has earned its nickname as Music City USA, but sometimes people don’t realize we also have a wealth of music that isn’t a bit twangy.” – CMT.com

“10 tracks from 10 of Nashville’s finest, commercially palatable pop/rock performers. It goes without saying that the compilation provides yet another reminder that Nashville boasts much more than twangy finger-pickers.” Tennessean

“The new Ten Out of Tenn Volume 2 compilation offers convincing proof that there’s way more coming out of Tennessee than just country-like for example, slick alt rock and pretty modern electropop.” – Time Out New York

“A tour (and CD compilation) that shines a light on a handful of the many young singer-songwriters based in Nashville” – Chicago Sun Times
