Tickets Go On Sale October 18th To General Public

The members of Phish will come together on March 6th, 7th and 8th of next year for three shows at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia. The concerts will be the group’s first since its August 2004 performance at Newport State Airport in Coventry, Vermont. The band intends to announce additional 2009 tour dates early next year.

An online ticket request period is currently underway at http://www.phish.tickets.musictoday.com. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, October 18th, at 10:00 a.m. ET and may be purchased online at http://www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 757.671.8100, 757.872.8100 or 804.262.8100. Tickets will not be available at the venue box office; there is a two-ticket limit per show.

Hampton Coliseum is a favorite venue of both the band and its fans. Phish has played a dozen shows there thus far and recorded the GRAMMY®-nominated, six-CD set Hampton Comes Alive at the venue in 1998.

Formed at the University of Vermont in 1983, Phish comprises keyboardist Page McConnell, guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio, drummer Jon Fishman and bassist Mike Gordon. The band soon became one of the top touring groups in the U.S. and, by 1998, Rolling Stone had proclaimed Phish the most important band of the decade. “Phish offers something rare in pop: a long, complex, and completely different show every night,” said the Village Voice. “Musically competent without fetishizing technique, Phish embraces a broad spectrum of rock, jazz, bluegrass, twentieth century compositional techniques, blissful extended jams, African groove experiments, psychedelic game playing, and free-form guitar ecstasy.” The group has released 11 studio albums, six concert videos and a series of 42 complete live concert CDs, including 11 on their own JEMP Records. In addition, they offer a selection of 88 full concert downloads at livephish.com. LivePhish.com is Phish’s digital download store and has been widely hailed as one of the first band sites to offer high-quality, unedited soundboard recordings of full concerts.

On November 18th, Phish will release At The Roxy on JEMP Records. The eight-CD box set chronicles the band’s three-night stint at The Roxy nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia in February of 1993.
