Brooklyn-Based Garage Pop Outfit Selected To Back Ray Davies On Stage 12-City US Tour

Brooklyn, NY – Feature Records announced today Locksley will have the honor of backing rock legend Ray Davies while he performs classic Kinks hits during his 12-city US tour! The tour, which will start in Tampa, FL on November 28th, will highlight the release of Locksley’s debut record “Don’t Make Me Wait” recently released to critical acclaim. In addition to backing Ray Davies, the band will also be performing a full set as main support for the tour.

Currently on a national headlining tour for MTV’s Choose or Lose campaign, Locksley is extremely active in voicing the importance of political involvement and awareness. “I think voting isn’t even important, it’s imperative,” said Kai Kennedy of Locksley. “It’s our right that people died for to give to us. Exercising that right is the most patriotic thing that anyone can do.” The tour is the latest installment of “Choose or Lose’s” ongoing campaign to raise awareness and support for America’s young military veterans issues.

Without the support of a major label system the band was able to accomplish unprecedented success based on the merit of their songwriting, landing highly coveted spots on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live as well as placement of their hit single My Kind Of Lover in J.J. Abrams’ much anticipated Cloverfield. They were also awarded the honor of composing Why Can’t I Be You for the MTV show of the same name and the track’s music video won mtvU’s The Freshman. On the strength of the band’s appeal and in an unprecedented move, MTV featured Locksley as Artist of The Week for two consecutive weeks in the month of September 2008.
