Wow, what can people say about Agoraphobic Nosebleed. In the time that it took me to write these words up, five or six songs have blasted by. This is beyond thrash, this is light-speed metal and don’t let anyone tell the band otherwise. Individuals would have to be on speed just to begin to comprehend the urgency in which Agoraphobic Nosebleed creates all of their music. It is serious as if someone played “Short Music for Short People” at triple time; that would get individuals some thought about what exactly Agoraphobic Nosebleed sounds like.

Good luck trying to figure out what they are saying during any of the tracks on “PCP Tornado”; the Nosebleed’s vocalist acts more as another instrument to add to the wall of sound that they have created on the tracks for this disc. After “PCP Tornado”, the second half of the disc contains remixes and re-toolings of Agoraphobic Nosebleed songs. The few seconds allotted to each track on the “PCP Tornado” side balloons to three and four minutes when the different musicians get a hold of AN’s music. These aren’t the retoolers of tracks that individuals have no clue about, but major players in experimental and otherwise off-kilter music. Vidna Obmana, James Plotkin, and Merzbow all throw in their homages to Agoraphobic Nosebleed on “ANbRX”.

If individuals are familiar with acts like Limpwrist, the style of music that Agoraphobic Nosebleed play during the first five cuts of “PCP Tornado” is a fast version of that. It is not until the band gets to “Information Super Lost Highway” that the band goes into a sludgy style that is more in line with what the Hydra Head bands are knowing for putting out. This is only an aberration for “PCP Tornado”, as the rest of the tracks conform to the “light-speed metal” tag previously affixed. The band gets to a new level of speed when it comes to “Latin Thrift Cave”, adding some shifting of vocals that continues on during the blend of sludge and thrash that is known as “Doubled Over”. There is one thing saying that you have heard of Agoraphobic Nosebleed, but it is quite another when you can actually listen to the band. Be ready to get slammed against the wall and brutalized for ten minutes for “PCP Tornado” and then have the same thing done with their minds during “ANbRX” for considerably longer.

Top Tracks: Latin Thrift Market, Doubled Over

Rating: 8.1/10
