Danica: I’m a huge fan of vodka, I love all types and flavors. So, when I had the chance to review this vodka, I made sure that I was having a craving for a good mixed drink. Before consumption I chilled the bottle in the freezer to make sure it was at a perfectly cold temperature. After the vodka was chilled I opened the bottle and poured out my first shot and took a drink, it was very smooth and had a great taste.

This vodka is a grain vodka, so by nature it is smooth light and great for either straight shots or for a mixed drink. When I made a mixed drink, I did a Cosmopolitan; 2 parts cranberry juice, 1 part vodka, a splash of triple sec and a cherry for a garnish. Very simple but it was a great drink and the vodka was great for this drink, it blended in great and let me savor the drink without over powering the drink. Probably the best thing about Sobieski vodka is that it is affordable luxury ranging 10 – 15 dollars per 750 ML bottle, Proving that you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg to get great vodka. The vodka Proves that you don’t need a fancy cock or a frosted bottle to have fine vodka.

James: Through the months that we have had the alcohol review section up, we have had the chance to review some pretty stellar spirits. We have not had quite the opportunity with vodka as he have had with rum, but Sobieski showcases the fact that a sub-$30 vodka can hang with the big dogs. The flavor is smooth but imbues warmth that will stick with drinkers for well after the first experience. Sobieski’s taste is unique in that it stands out boldly when one uses it as a straight shooter and it mutes itself perfectly for use in a screwdriver or other mixed drink.

Sobieski is a vodka that I will be buying in the future when I want something that is truly everything to everyone, something that everyone that is at a get-together or party can enjoy. The price ensures that one can pick up a few bottles and fuel a party or other soiree well into the night. If you are a fan of vodka, make it a point to pick up Sobieski.

  1. I have been drinking vodka for well over 15 years. I have come across quite a few surprises and disappointments in that time, but nothing comes close to the pleasent surprise of Sobieski Vodka.

I picked this up at the local discount store at the recommendation of the staff. She mentioned that they had just got their first shipment and it was on sale. $14.99 for a 1.75l was well within my budget and I decided to give it a shot…literally! Wow, Sobieski blew me away with its incredible smoothness and finish. A gentle burn to start with creamy vanilla undertones lead to a smooth as glass finish that lingered for just the right amount of time. Then it was gone with your palette begging for another shot.

It made a fantastic martini, however I prefer Turi for the perfect martini as it has a bit more of a bite. But make no mistake, Sobieski is the better all around vodka and easily the best I have tasted….ever.

Don’t be fooled, Absolut, Effen, Ciroc, Grey Goose….hey the bottles sure look nice and it is a fine drink, but try Sobieski and you be the judge where your money is better spent!
