El Perro Del Mar will be embarking on a co-headlining tour early next year with fellow-Swede Taken By Trees. El Perro Del Mar’s latest album, Love Is Not Pop, was released earlier this year via The Control Group. Full tour dates below.

Swedish pop star Robyn has made her first-ever own remix for another artist. And she chose “Change of Heart” by El Perro Del Mar to be her premiere Rakamonie remix.

El Perro Del Mar on Love Is Not Pop: “Shortly after having finished touring with my second album ‘From the Valley to the Stars’ I started writing new songs. For some reason all the songs were about love and in particular that of the doomed kind. Unconsciously I think I knew what I was trying to tell myself. I’d spent some bad times in New York and some good times in Paris and both these cities have made a great imprint on this album and my current outlook on love. I’ve decided to call it ‘Love Is Not Pop’ – the songs on the album are all pop songs and they are all about love. But naturally, it is not all as simple as that. As much as pop can be love and vice versa – I’d like to believe that love goes so much deeper than a pop song.”

“The Swedish singer/songwriter makes a heartbreaking return to form. Whatever love is or isn’t, who needs it when you’ve got records like this one?” – PITCHFORK

“Assbring’s vocals sound like Lykke Li’s world-weary big sister.” – NYLON

“There’s a sense of uncompromising humanity at work here – worthy of repeat listens” – UNDER THE RADAR

“A quietly insistent and mesmerizing loveliness.” – LA WEEKLY

“Its impossibly smooth production and spare, beautiful melodies are enough to make you support universal healthcare, just so the U.S. can make music this good.” – FILTER
