British rock trio Muse has announced select dates, venues, and ticket on-sale dates for its upcoming spring North American tour. The headlining trek begins February 27th in Atlanta and criss-crosses the continent, including a stop at New York Cityâ€™s legendary Madison Square Garden.
The band are touring in support of their fifth studio album The Resistance, which earned Muse their highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 3. The Resistance also notched 20 No. 1 debuts around the world. Museâ€™s current single “Uprising” has now topped Mediabaseâ€™s Alternative Rock chart for 14 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for number of consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Mediabase Alternative Rock chart for the 2009 calendar year.
The Resistance was produced by Muse and mixed by famed audio engineer Mark â€˜Spikeâ€™ Stent. The band, which recently supported U2 on several American tour dates, and completed a sold-out tour of the U.K. and Europe, are performing a series of holiday radio shows this coming week and will perform on Saturday Night Live on December 19th.
In other Muse news, the band has been nominated for a 2010 Peopleâ€™s Choice Award, which is voted on by the public, for “Favorite Rock Band.”
