Miami, Florida-based organicArma has signed with Rock Ridge Music and will release their EP “Discordia” via digital distribution on February 3, 2009. The electronica EP will be available via all digital download portals and will include the original version of the song “Discordia,” as well as remixes by DJ Spooky, King Unique, and band member phAxas.

Says organicArma about the signing: “With new shifts and motions in the music industry it is increasingly important to utilize creative marketing techniques. Rock Ridge Music not only has an established network, but has a unique vision for carving out new frontiers. This is ideal for a borderless concept such as organicArma. We are thrilled to venture into uncharted realities with Rock Ridge.”

organicArma weaves philosophy, psychology, and science to construct its message. The three-member band, comprised of dhArma (acustronic drums), lhArma (keys, bass, samples), and phAxas (samples, percussive MIDI, DJ) takes its inspiration from minimal techno, techno, house, dub, classical, industrial, rock, and Afro-Latin beats to create music that is original.

The band combines original instrumentation with provocative lyrics: for organicArma, there is no “one” lead singer. Since all three members are responsible for writing lyrics, each member takes on the protagonistic role of delivering their vocal message. The band encourages listeners to think beyond their current realities to create a reality based on one’s own imagination. organicArma utilizes the concept of duality to connect one’s opposite and come up with all the possibilities in between.

Through “Discordia,” there is the possibility of creating solutions that impact the world. The “Discordia” concept (put forth in the single) fosters the development and connection of opposite ideas in order

to work towards an agreeable solution, understanding that no one has an absolute truth. Everyone has something to contribute in the process of developing agreeable solutions. The key is in making the effort to communicate, discuss, and not shy away from or reject opposing ideas.

organicArma is based out of Miami’s Wynwood Art District, as is their label Acustronic, a concept label dedicated to raising mind awareness through provocative yet accessible music. Acustronic’s “Awarehouse” is headquarters for organicArma, a live music venue, Luis Perez Galeria, and a sculpture garden. The band has performed at such prestigious locations as The Louvre, Casino Nouvou (Paris), Maxims (Paris), BMI Latin Alternative Showcase (NYC), ART Basel 2006, and the Winter Music Conference in Miami in 2008.
